What is Minimalism?
Minimalism is a lifestyle. It is also a state of mind. A minimalist lifestyle focuses on living intentionally and optimally in a home curated with resources that serve a purpose and are functional. Minimalism is less about being enslaved to debt & stuff and more about being liberated to live a life of joy, purpose, and experience.
What is Slow Living?
Slow living is often intertwined with the minimalist lifestyle. It was a movement initially started in Italy, known as the slow food movement to protest the emergence of fast food in the 1980's & 90's. The slow food movement emphasized traditional food preparation and slowing down to enjoy home cooked or traditionally prepared meals. In the fast paced environments and constant hustle, slow living allows one to remove themselves from the daily grind and enjoy life more, connecting with nature, enjoying home cooked meals and being more conscious of sensory cues by living in the simplicity of the moment and enjoyment of the experience.
